I'm originally from Cavite, Philippines but my family emigrated to Belfast, Northern Ireland when I was two years old. I'm studying BEng Software Engineering at Queen's University Belfast. I was Treasurer of Queen's Filipino Society for two years and an hall of fame member for Queen's Esport's Society.
I'm always looking for ways to develop myself, and I'm fascinated by new technologies and love coding. Working in a fast-paced, lively workplace has helped me enhance my teamwork and communication abilities while also providing me with customer service experience.
I am also a self-directed learner who uses online learning tools and personal projects to hone my skills. I am committed to completing projects on time and to a high standard.
I enjoyed being a Placement Software Engineer at Civica in the Belfast Office. And through my experience working with end users in past projects and as an Engineer in Civica, I have developed an interest in Cloud and Forward Facing roles. But, I also really enjoyed the engineering rigour behind being an Software Engineer.
From when I initially got interested into Software Engineering, to my interests now in Cloud, Software Engineering and IT. Checkout my journey so far in Software Engineering!
During my days in St Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School, I participated in a 5-day work placement programme (Generation Innovation) was set up by a company named Catalyst Incorporated where groups of people from different schools had worked with best companies in Northern Ireland. Worked with a company called Oracle to solve a real problem or challenge by building a prototype of a mobile application, aids deciding of estimates of sprints. Application involves different variety of games for estimation, so it’s not same old.
"I had the pleasure to work with Marc on a multiple university projects. He is a responsible individual and a great team player, as well as an exceptional developer. His expertise and knowledge would add value to any team."
"Marc worked in my team as a placement Software Engineer. He was able to pick up new technologies quickly which helped make good progress with his project. Being fully remote wasn't a problem, he was pro-active in making new connections and got on very well with the team. The GeNI project we developed was a real success with positive feedback from other teams when he presented in our internal conference. I highly recommend Marc"
"Marc is a great programmer who can meet big deadlines in a group project. A great team player during our hackathon sessions and always had innovative ideas to work with."
